Cosmetic Bag

  • Course
  • 16 Lessons

On this course you will make a cosmetic bag which has a zip, is lined and features a bold floral design. I used up-cycled shirts but you can also use a light cotton weight fabric. The course is suitable for intermediate stitchers who have completed beginners Flowers & Grasses and are up for more of a challenge. These cosmetic bags make an ideal special gift for friends and family, or why not make one for yourself!

How is the course delivered?

There are lots of videos where you can watch me create this fully lined shaped bag from start to finish, from selecting the quirky details on preloved shirts to putting the finishing free motion details on your raw. edged appliqued flowers and finishing with a fine ribbon on the zip.
There are clear patterns to download and use and plenty of flowers to practice and inspire you.
You can copy my design exactly or you can create your own personal versions.
Some experience of free motion embroidery and general sewing skill would be advisable.
We will explore using thicker threads in the bobbin to create another dimension to your bag design.
I will guide you clearly through inserting the zip and adding the handle.
There will be an opportunity to ask me questions within the course and technical support if you need it.
